TakeMe2Space plans to launch the MOI-1A satellite aboard a SpaceX rocket on October 1

The Indian space startup TakeMe2Space is preparing to send the MOI-1A satellite into orbit on October 1.
The company refers to it as India’s first orbital computing satellite. Weighing less than 50 kg, the device is set to be deployed as part of the SpaceX Transporter-18 mission.
MOI-1A is equipped with Nvidia Orin NX processors, designed for onboard computations. This method enables the satellite to process data in orbit without transmitting the entire original dataset back to Earth.
The primary goal of the project is to transfer some data processing tasks from ground infrastructure directly to the spacecraft. This could reduce the volume of information that needs to be sent back to Earth and expedite the analysis results.
TakeMe2Space has announced that it has signed agreements with 23 clients, including companies involved in geographic information systems and educational institutions. Among the clients is the American firm Little Place Labs, which focuses on space data analysis. Clients will be able to upload containerized AI models to the satellite that can process data as they pass over designated areas and send the analysis results back to Earth instead of the entire original dataset.
Previously, Elon Musk stated that SpaceX would begin launching its satellites equipped with Nvidia chips in 2027.
